About Keep Safe
Keep Safe is a national initiative developed by the community-based charity I Am Me in partnership with Police Scotland.
The purpose of the initiative is to establish a network of Safe Places within communities across Scotland. The scheme is particularly aimed at people who may feel more vulnerable when out in the community due to; a sensory impairment, physical disability, learning disability, mental health issue or frailty due to age.
Keep Safe Premises
There are already a number of Safe Places operating throughout Scotland, these include; shops, cafés, libraries, shopping centres and recreational facilities. All Keep Safe Premises are screened by Police Scotland and trained staff are available to offer assistance. All approved Keep Safe Premises display a sticker on their frontage to indicate their participation in the scheme.
Keep Safe Card & App
In addition the Keep Safe Scotland app enables users to quickly identify the nearest Keep Safe premises, contact the police or plan a route. The app is free to download for Android and iOS.
Clackmannanshire & Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership have recently begun rolling out the initiative across both local authority areas. Please click on the link for a list of Keep Safe Premises in this area.
