Adoption
Where possible, our aim is to return children who have needed alternative care to their own parents, or extended family. For a small number of children, this is not possible and the decision is made to find an adoptive home for them.
Fostering
Fostering is a way of offering children and young people a safe, nurturing home while their own parents are unable to look after them. This is often a short term arrangement lasting a few weeks. However, arrangements can sometimes be in place longer term, depending on the circumstances.
Further InformationKinship Care
Kinship care is when a child is looked after by their extended family or close friends if they cannot remain with their birth parents. Kinship care includes both: looked after children who have been placed with kinship carers by the local authority.
