Stirling Council has outlined its contingency plans ahead of industrial action between 14-21 August.

As a result, scheduled household bin collections and street cleansing operations will be significantly impacted.

During the period of industrial action:

  • No household waste collections will take place
  • Household Recycling Centres at Lower Polmaise, Balfron and Callander will be closed
  • Residents are asked not to present any bins, sacks or boxes for collection

When the strike is over, the collection of grey, healthcare and brown bins will be prioritised.

Negotiations over the national dispute about local government pay may evolve at short notice. Any updates will be posted as soon as possible on the Council’s website and social media channels, including Facebook, X/Twitter and Instagram.
