The Stirling nursery received a grading of ‘5’ (Very Good) in all four core evaluations of its service - setting, leadership, play and learning, staff team and care.
It followed a recent unannounced inspection at the nursery in Cultenhove, which provides care for up to 36 children aged 0 to 5, by the National Regulator.
Aspects of the service highlighted for praise by the Inspectorate include:
- Happy, confident children who felt loved and secure and formed trusting relationships with staff and friends
- Community links and family learning, singled out as a ‘real strength’ of the service
- Spaces for children at Hillview that were very warm, welcoming and inviting
- A leadership team who are ‘passionate, visible, and committed’ with one parent telling inspectors: 'I really value the relationships I've made with staff. They go above and beyond, they know my child and me very well, it's a small community.'
Linsey Allan, Head of Hillview Nursery said: “We are thrilled with the fantastic results of our inspection and the positive feedback received. It reflects the hard work, dedication and heartfelt passion our team puts into supporting children and families every day.
“Our staff help children grow, flourish and reach their full potential. The strong relationships our team has built with the families we work with speak volumes about their commitment.
“We’re especially proud of the sense of community within our service, which is key to helping families feel supported and empowered. It’s this connection that allows us to make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. We will continue to provide a strong foundation for children’s learning and development.”
Cllr Danny Gibson, Convener of Stirling Council’s Children and Young People Committee, said: “Everyone at Hillview Nursery should be very proud of this fantastic report.
“Staff are supporting positive outcomes for all children in the St Ninians community, with a high quality of care consistently referenced in the report.
“Families are also key to Hillview’s success and are invited regularly to participate in book bug and big bedtime reads with the children, as well as nurturing cuppa chats. Congratulations to all the staff for their hard work and professionalism.”
