Labour administration to lead Stirling Council

Stirling’s six Labour Councillors have formed a new minority administration for Stirling Council.

The decision was made at today’s (Thursday 19 May) first meeting of Council since the 5 May elections.

Councillor Chris Kane (pictured left) was appointed Council Leader while Councillor Margaret Brisley will become Depute Leader.

Councillor Douglas Dodds was appointed as Provost, acting as the Council’s Civic Head.

Stirling Council has 23 elected members with 8 Scottish National Party members, 7 Conservative, 6 Labour, 1 Green and 1 Independent.
