Stirling Council is offering more than £600,000 funding in 2022/23 through the Place Based Investment Programme (PBIP), which is funded by the Scottish Government.

The fund is open to applications for capital projects that support local area regeneration, community development and economic growth.

This can include the purchase or regeneration of vacant, derelict or under-utilised land or buildings, with the aim of helping deliver improvements such as town centre revitalisation, community-led regeneration and 20 minute neighbourhoods.

Open to a wide range of groups and organisations

Community and business groups, public sector organisations, charities and other third sector organisations rural and urban locations across Stirling that meet certain conditions are eligible to apply for the investment.

Successful applications will be allocated a project liaison officer for support and advice, with the grant to be used in the current financial year (ending 31 March 2023).

Take ownership of local development

Convener of the Council’s Finance and Economy Committee, Councillor Margaret Brisley, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our towns and villages to take ownership of local development and help deliver significant regeneration projects that will have a long lasting impact.

“As a Council we are committed to improving and upgrading areas across Stirling and this funding gives communities the power to get involved and get projects which are close to their heart moving.

“They will also receive support from the Council’s Economic Development and Culture Service, who will guide anyone interested through the process. If you are interested, please get in touch and share your ideas with us.”

Expressions of interest forms must be submitted by 10am on Monday 15th August.
