Learning digital skills

Services on offer at libraries to help build digital skills

I.T. and ME

I.T. & ME sessions take place in Stirling Council Libraries and are led by volunteers who help people solve basic I.T. problems, learn more about using digital devices and learning new digital skills.

The sessions are very informal and are completely free and you don’t need to learn everything at once. You can take small steps and learn at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere.

Digital devices such as smart phones, tablets, laptops and PCs are changing the way people access information, keep in touch with one another and learn new things.

Depending on your interests, hobbies and what you use your device for, I.T. & ME can do something for you.

Work I.T.

About Work I.T.

Work I.T. sessions take place in Stirling Council Libraries to help people who are looking for work, learn and develop new digital skills.

Participants meet with the Digital Inclusion Officer in their nearest local library for 1-2-1 appointments. These sessions usually last one hour and are very informal. You can learn at your own pace and we can work on specific areas that you would like help with.

The Digital Inclusion Officer can help with tasks such as creating a CV, navigating a Universal Credit account or online job searching.

Universal Credit

People now have to apply for and manage their Universal Credit claim online. Our libraries provide free use of PCs, internet access and WiFi. We can help equip you with basic I.T. skills allowing you to confidently access your Universal Credit account.

Job Searching

There are a wide range of websites that allow you to search for vacancies and provide useful advice on how to create CVs, prepare for interviews or write cover letters. We can show you some of the best resources that are available to help carry out your job search.

Creating CVs

We can help you create and update your CV. Once completed, you can upload your CV to your Universal Credit account, job search websites or send it as an email attachment to potential employers.
