Reading, writing, spelling and numbers

These free classes for adults can help you improve your skills.

These courses can help you improve your skills for:

  • communicating with others
  • reading, writing, spelling and numbers
  • letter writing
  • reports
  • CVs
  • budgeting and cooking

Classes are for anyone over 16 who would like help with reading, writing and numbers. They support learners with a range of needs, including dyslexia.

We can provide individual help in small, friendly groups with support from tutors and volunteers.

English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)

We provide free English classes for non-native speakers to further their skills for living and working in Scotland. Classes run at various times with support from tutors and volunteers.

You can learn English for work and for everyday life, with classes aimed at beginners and those who already have some English language skills.

Where appropriate, we can offer SQA accreditation for a variety of modules.

We can also help with CV writing and applying for jobs through our employability programmes.

Community classes

Community classes are held at a variety of times throughout the week focusing on Gaelic learning opportunities.

Blocks of classes start in January, April and September. If you are interested in our programme contact learning and employability team.

Wellbeing opportunities

Our wellbeing opportunities can help you to:

  • learn how to manage day-to-day stress
  • build your confidence
  • raise your self-esteem
  • achieve your goals

Support is usually available in small groups. In addition, our City Region Deal Inclusion Workers can provide one-to-one support that focuses on wellbeing, confidence and everyday skills.
