Provost Civic Awards 2020 - Nomination Form

Criteria for Selection

Business

Nominations are sought on behalf of individuals in both large and small businesses who have made substantial contribution to the Stirling Council area.

Arts & Culture

Nominations are sought on behalf of individuals resident in the area. 

Your nominee can work in the arts in a voluntary or professional capacity as long as you fulfil at least one of the following criteria:

  • Operate from within the area
  • Have attained Scottish, British or higher recognition in your field

Your nominee should have embraced at least one of the following:

  • Undertaken imaginative work in the broad field of the arts, including drama, dance, music, literature, and the visual arts and crafts including photography
  • Demonstrated good practice in the execution of arts projects and events

Sport

Nominations are sought on behalf of individuals resident in the area administered by Stirling Council, or operating from within the area, who have attained Scottish, British or higher recognition, normally through competition in sports.

Academic

Nominations are sought on behalf of individuals who are members of the Higher/Further Educational Establishments within the Stirling Council area, who have achieved notable success in their particular field of academia or have made substantial contribution to ongoing research in their chosen field.

Community

Nominations are sought on behalf of individuals resident in the area administered by Stirling Council who have made a notable or substantial contribution to the community which they serve.

Volunteer Sector

Nominations are sought on behalf of those individuals working in the voluntary sector in the Stirling council area who have made substantial contribution in their area of expertise.

Youth

Nominations are sought on behalf of individuals aged 11-18 who have made a notable or substantial contribution to the community which they serve.

Special Achievement

It is possible that persons may be considered eligible for nomination by way of having made a substantial contribution to the life of the Council’s area.  It has, therefore, been agreed that a category of Special Achievement be instituted in order that individuals are not excluded from the process.  Nominations are therefore sought on behalf of those individuals who may not fall into any of the above categories.  These nominations will be considered exceptionally on their merits.

Tourism

The winner of this award will be a dedicated and passionate promoter of Stirling as a visitor destination. They may be an employee or business owner who goes above and beyond to inspire visitors to explore more and stay longer. They may be a prolific blogger about Stirling with a huge audience, a creative and dynamic tour guide or someone who simply dedicates time and energy to showcase the best of Stirling to visitors.

           

These awards will be conferred for the calendar year ended 31st May in the year of nomination.  The Awards Ceremony will take place in October of the year of nomination.
