The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 gives any person or organisation the right to access recorded information of any age held by Scottish public bodies, including Stirling Council, subject to some exemptions. You also have the right to request environmental information held by Scottish public bodies under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.
It does not matter how old the information is, or how it is stored, as long as it is recorded in some form.
Before you make a request you can check if we have already published the information you want on our Open Data platform or via our Publication Scheme.
Making a request for information
Any individual or organisation can make a request for information in a number of ways, including by email or by post. Include your full name in your email or letter and a contact address (email or postal), and clearly describe what information is being requested. If your request is too broad, it may be refused because of the cost of responding to it.
