Information for staff working at an election on how to claim travel expenses
Election staff: claim for travel expenses
The Election Office will provide Payroll with details of your fee, including training. If you have incurred mileage costs in the course of your election duties you can claim for this mileage.
There is no form to claim expenses. Send information requested in an email to payroll at payroll@stirling.gov.uk If your payroll/bank details have changed please email payroll.
- Name
- Election Payroll Number (will be sent to you by email closer to polling day)
- Election venue (eg polling place or count venue)
- Taxable expenses:
- Travel between home and election venue – give details of start and finish point of each journey
- No of miles @£0.45 per mile
- Total claim
- Non-taxable expenses (Presiding Officers only when travelling with Ballot Box or to collect / deliver Ballot Box)
- Travel between home, collection / delivery point for ballot box and polling place – give details of start and finish point of each journey
- No of miles @£0.45 per mile
- Total claim
