Minutes Actions
1. Adoption of Previous Minutes

Minutes from April 2024 adopted; Fiona Dyet proposed, Carol Robertson
seconded.

2. Matters Arising from previous minutes not to be addressed within
the meeting

Bellwood Hall: Joan Murphy has been in contact with Alyson Allison at
Stirling Council, who has contacted the owner. There are ongoing
conversations about the building but there has been no progress yet
regarding its development.

Reminiscence Box: One of the available boxes was brought along to the
meeting and displayed at the end. They are available from Stirling Library
and celebrate the social and architectural history of Stirling and contain
photographs, postcards, adverts and building plans. They can be used as a
way to engage with people living with dementia, giving opportunities to
reconnect and stimulate conversation. More information can be found at
www.scht.org.uk

Food Train: Joan Murphy reported that things are looking better for The
Food Train. Joan Murphy reported that Stirling Council have not been
particularly helpful, but Clackmannanshire Council have been helpful. The
Food Train is not shutting down and is looking for more over-65 customers
anywhere in Stirling who are looking for help with their shopping. Contact
Joan Murphy for more information, or see https://thefoodtrain.co.uk

1. Reports

a. Chair
No report.

b. Secretary:
Police Report: Over the past month there have been 21 calls to 999.
There were 2 crimes reported: 1 detected, 1 undetected.

Hogweed: There has been a considerable amount of giant hogweed
seen in Riverside and reported to Stirling Council. Stirling Council
have the issue in hand, and Fiona Dyet will follow up with Stephen Bly
if nothing has been done with the hogweed in the next 2-3 weeks.

Community Grant:
There is grant funding of up to £500 potentially available from CFSLA
which could be put towards work at the Waverley Park playpark.

Accessibility: There are continued issues with parking on Forth Street,
particularly with parking on both sides of the road and beyond the
yellow lines. This impedes drivers’ views and hinders large vehicles,
including the school bus. The potential of extending the yellow lines
further along the street was raised.

c. Treasurer
No income and no expenditure.

d. Planning:
No report.
.
2. Sub-Groups

a. Environment: Join with members of staff from the different
McDonald branches in Stirling for a litter pick on Thursday 6th June at
10am at Old Stirling Bridge. Full information can be found at
https://www.riversidecommunitycouncil.co.uk

b. Defibs: The next amount of money to be raised is for new batteries,
which are expensive but last for five years. There was interest from
several attending in a first aid course.

c. Parking: There are no updates about the parking situation from Stirling
Council. There was a discussion about the illegal parking on double
yellow lines at the new student flats and need for enforcement before
there is injury. There was also a discussion about the merits of
extending the double yellow line from the roundabout on Shore Road to
the parking at the pontoon.

d. Old Harbour Woods (OHW): Di Alderdice has submitted comments
about the Forthside Masterplan and would like to know who
specifically to talk to about the wood within Stirling Council.
