MINUTE OF MEETING OF KINGS PARK COMMUNITY COUNCIL
HELD ON MONDAY, 13 MAY 2024 AT 7.00PM

Welcome and Apologies
The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. Apologies were as noted above.

The Minutes of the meeting held on 15 April 2024 were approved as an accurate record with

Matters Arising

Proposed Restriction of access at Albert Road
Members noting that the Community Council will correspond with the
Council on the proposal.
Members noting that they have not yet been approached for consultation
on the proposal and would like further details on the exact proposal.
Planning Query
Resident present expressing concerns over planning application for a
house extension on Glebe Avenue.
Members agreeing that the Community Council will submit an objection
to the planning application.
Sustainable Transport

Gary Bell noting that the railings at Upper Craigs are unnecessary and
unsightly, and not always being used (i.e. pedestrians finding their own
path across the road rather than using the fenced space).

Chair’s Report
Nothing to report.
Secretary’s Report
Jen reminding members about Walking of the Marches and format of AGM in June.
Councillor’s Report
Councillor Benny noting nothing specific to raise and that he will raise the Albert Place
matter directly with the Council officers.
Members noting interest in the future of Langarth. Councillor Benny noting that the
building is insured and the Council are making enquiries as to how best to proceed.
Councillor Benny urging members to engage in the Masterplan.
Presentation on Ground Source Heating
Councillor Rachel Nunn provided an interesting presentation on ground source heat
pumps with input from Mark Richardson from Ristol Consulting who has offered the
Community Council support in this matter.
Noting that a leadership team has been convened to obtain funding for a feasibility
study – the leadership team have opted to appoint a consultant to do this.
Councillor Nunn seeking approval from the Community Council to submit the
application for funding for the feasibility study.
Date of next meeting is 3 June 2024.
