MINUTE OF MEETING OF KINGS PARK COMMUNITY COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY, 06 FEBRUARY AT 7.30PM

Present: Stewart Small (Chair), Jen McNiven (Secretary), Niall Hamilton-Smith, Jane Saunders, Maurice Fitzgibbons and Willie Ferguson.

1. Welcome and Apologies
The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. Apologies were as noted above.
2. Minutes of previous meetings
The Minutes of the meeting held on 28 June 2022 were approved as an accurate record: Proposed Jen McNiven

3. Police Report
No officer present. Written report circulated prior to the meeting.
Members noting a rise in speeding/road safety reports following the closure of Dumbarton Road.
4. Matters Arising
- Sustainable Transport
Nothing to report.
- KPCC Positions
Noted that the elections begin in April and all current members will be standing for election, leaving 2 vacant positions.
Members agreeing that there is more presence required from Councillors to attract new members.
Members agreeing that a representative from Allan’s Primary School Parent Council would be beneficial.
- Community Council Health Check
Jane noted that these have to be completed every quarter going forward.
5. Chair’s Report
Chair noting that there are a lot of matters on the horizon for the Community Council and this year will bring a lot of new projects for members of the community to be involved in.
6. Secretary’s Report
Jen noting that all emails of note have been circulated to members.
7. Councillor’s Report
No Councillor present.
8. Kings Park
Members agreeing to invite a representative from the Youth Participation Team to a future meeting to ascertain their role in the community.
9. Planning
Niall noting the planning applications applicable to the area and noting refusal of the application relating to the construction of an ASDA superstore on Borrowmeadow Road.
10. KPCC Communications
Nothing to report.
- AOCB
Noticeboard
Members agreeing to pursue the Council to repair the notice board for the Community Council. Friends of Kings Park agreeing to allow KPCC to use their noticeboard for surplus information/notices.
Planning/Land
Maurice noting that the land at Viewforth is an extremely valuable piece of land and members agreeing that Maurice should write to the Council seeking information on the plans/proposals for this piece of ground.
