MINUTE OF MEETING OF KINGS PARK COMMUNITY COUNCIL
HELD ON MONDAY, 04 DECEMBER 2013 AT 7.30PM
STIRLING LIBRARY BASEMENT
Present: Stewart Small (Chair), Niall Hamilton-Smith, Gary Bell, Jane Saunders,
Willie Ferguson and Maurice Fitzgibbons.
Apologies: Niall Hamilton-Smith, Jen McNiven (Secretary) and Steve Brewster
In Attendance: Councillor Scott Farmer and Lauren Grant (minutes)
1. Welcome and Apologies
The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. Apologies were as noted above.
2. Minutes of previous meetings
The Minutes of the meeting held on 02 October 2023 were approved as an accurate record:

3. Police Report
No written report submitted - no officers present at the meeting.
4. Matters Arising
a. Sustainable Transport
Gary Bell noting Dumbarton Road works are almost complete and next on the
schedule is the Upper Craigs.
5. Chair’s Report
a. AGM Feedback
Noted that the speaker at the AGM was extremely informative and gave great
guidance on how to access funding/assistance in upgrading listed buildings and homes
in conservation areas.
b. Leaf clearance
Councillor Farmer noting that the Council have the same resources available as they
had before the additional cycle paths were installed.
c. The Big Conversation Survey
Stewart noting that the survey highlighted the hard decisions that the Council have to
make.

7. Councillor’s Report
Councillor Farmer noting that local members are receiving regular updates on the works and
snagging issues will be dealt with over the Christmas period.
As chair of the audit committee, there was a meeting regarding the demolition of the Christie’s
Clock. Councillor Farmer noting that the internal audit team did a thorough investigation.
Council have to put their hands up and accept responsibility.
The Council are working on an Asset and Heritage Policy.

Nothing to report.
11. AOCB
Unionist Marches
Resident in attendance noting that the number of marches through the area are disruptive to
residents and unnecessary. Members agreeing that the matter should be raised with the
Council with a view to having the numbers reduced.
