MINUTE OF MEETING OF KINGS PARK COMMUNITY COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY, 11 APRIL 2022 AT 7.30PM

Present: Stewart Small (Chair), Jen McNiven (Secretary), Gordon Campbell (Treasurer), Niall Hamilton Smith, and Maurice Fitzgibbons.
Apologies: Gary Bell, Lorraine Hendry, Vicky Mason.
In Attendance: Lauren Grant (minutes) and Jane Saunders.
1. Welcome and Apologies
The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. Apologies were as noted above.
2. Minutes of the previous meeting held on 07 March 2022.

3. Police Report
No report submitted and no officer present.
a. Update on Kings Park
Stewart, Niall and Maurice attended a multi-agency meeting in respect of the behaviour of young people at the park – noted that there appeared to be agreement for all parties to share information where illegal behaviours were occurring and perhaps contributing to the issues at the park.
Noted that there is to be a follow up to the meeting in 3 months.
4. Matters Arising
a. Sustainable Transport
5. Albert Place/Dumbarton Road
Noted that the roadworks for the project appear to have commenced.
Noted that while the Community Council support the wider proposals, KPCC do not support the proposals for Albert Place.
6. Secretary’s Report
Jen noting that all emails of note have been circulated to members.
Noting correspondence from Wellbeing [ ] seeking volunteers to become a befriender. Members noting their support of the initiative and would be happy to invite a representative to a future meeting to discuss the aims of the initiative and how people can help. JEN TO ADVISE NAME OF ORGANISATION.
Noting correspondence from St Ninians Community Council regarding the traffic noise and compliance with 20mph speed limit, seeking input from other Community Councils as to what support they receive from Police Scotland when issues are raised. Members agreeing to respond to St Ninians Community Council in an attempt to assist.

8. Kings Park
Friends of Kings Park
Noted that there have been leaflets distributed around various places in the local area as part of a recruitment drive for members.
9. Planning
Niall noted the following planning matters: -
a. Another application for development of the coach house but this time the development is to be kept entirely within the existing shell.
i. Members noting that they will await representations from neighbours before making any comment on the application.
b. An application has been submitted for a double garage with home office on Kings Park Terrace.
i. Members noting that there is an argument for objection in terms of the conservation area restraints.

Nothing to report.
11. AOCB
a. Spaces on Community Council
Maurice Fitzgibbons accepted a position as a full member of the Community Council.
Noting that there are still 2 spaces on the Community Council and the Community Council have been approached by some residents seeking appointment as members.
