MINUTE OF MEETING OF KINGS PARK COMMUNITY COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY, 06 DECEMBER 2021 AT 7.30PM

Present: Stewart Small (Chair), Jen McNiven (Secretary), Gordon Campbell (Treasurer), Gary Bell, Niall Hamilton Smith & Maurice Fitzgibbons.

Apologies: Bill Ruddell, Vicky Mason, Lorraine Hendry.

In Attendance: Nil.

1. Welcome and Apologies

 

The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. Apologies were as noted above.

2. Minutes of the previous meeting held on 01 November 2021.

The Minutes were approved as an accurate record: Proposed Gary Bell

3. Police Report

 

No officer present at the meeting – brief written report circulated prior to the meeting.

Councillor Farmer noting that the issues within the park have been escalated within Police Scotland on behalf of the Council and Community Council and that the camera which has been installed can remain in situ for as long as required to aid some preventative action being taken.

4. Matters Arising

 

a. Sustainable Transport

 

Gary updated on the Council's latest developments in relation to sustainable transport options within KPCC area.

Members also noting that a consultation has been issued in relation to possible train station sites.

5. Secretary’s Report

 

Jen noting that she had received an invitation to the Book Nook for anyone who has been involved in Walk Cycle Live Stirling – a thank you from Stirling Council.

Noting that the Council received £1.3 million for regeneration projects.

6. Councillor’s Report

 

Councillor Farmer noting that there has been a lot of work around COVID recovery to put in substantial resource to assist in full recovery going forward.

 

Councillor Farmer noting that the Council were very disappointed in SSEN’s response to Storm Arwen and the delay in reconnecting a number of properties in the Stirling area. Council officers ended up being first responders despite the availability of officers already being stretched on account of COVID recovery.

Councillor Farmer advised members of the various events he has attended over the past few months, including COP26 and attendance to showcase Stirling’s district heating network.

7. Kings Park

 

a. Friends of Kings Park

 

Gordon summarised the minutes of the last meeting of Friends of Kings Park by way of an update to members.

8. Planning

 

Niall summarised the current planning applications – members raised no objections.

Maurice noting frustrations at the apparent disregard for planning law and enforcement.

9. KPCC Communications

 

Jen noting social media traffic has been quiet recently.

10. AOCB

 

a. Interest from resident to become CC member

 

Maurice noting that he has been contacted by a resident who would consider becoming a member. Jen advising that the gentleman should attend the meetings and she will look into the process of appointing new members and when this would be possible.

11. Date of next meeting will be 07 February 2021.
