Killin Community Council Meeting

6th November 2024 in Lesser McLaren Hall

5 SSE Presentation – Glentarken wind farm – this will be open to the public and will have all UpToDate information on the programme. 

 

  1. Stirling Council report – Lord provost E.Waterson

The Big Conversation is the start of the new budget process - questionnaire and opportunity to give feedback of how the council, spend their budget. The Team is looking at what they can suggest. 

 

There will be a By-election east Stirling 

 

Use Survey for the library has now closed and being processed. 

Margaret Grisley Council leader Passed away 

 

The Village area will be improving signage for speed signs, the village will also be implementing a 20 mph zones. 

 

Pavement old Coop – 

This project will be in next year’s budget and will be completed

The pavement outside the old coop is requiring to be upgraded.  G.Maxwell will liaise with the road department for this to addressed, however he did report that this will not be done urgently, due the road programme scaling back due to budget. 

 

C60 Bus update – £84000 has been inputted from council and running for another year. Complaints regarding certain services. Three drivers, 6am waste service. No bus service during the day – unable to attend shops, dentist etc.  plan to review Saturday timetable and see what services are needed as time needed during the week. Aim is to have 630 passengers a month but currently we are not meeting target. Pilot scheme one day of a week to use for mid-day services. 

Buses were not connecting with 59 and people being left so the transport department is looking at situations.  

 

The operation is now fully underway; however, user numbers are still not overly high. There have been reports of the bus having problems with the card machine, however this is getting addressed. The matter of the bus scheduled was raised and addressed, with members of the public reporting that the gap between 9am-4pm was meaning the bus was not being used to its full potential. Stirling councils are still looking at recruiting new drivers and the programme is being pushed out of social media, as well as the C60 timetable to encourage more people to use the bus.

  1. Police report – PC Leggett read out current report to all present. Reports will be available to read in the library.

 

  1. Planning report & Road's report – the battery farm at TirArthur – S.MacRobbie to keep an eye on these planning applications, nothing reported at present. Not much to report re the roads.  

 

Bio mass – have applied for planning. 

 

  1. KAT and other reports – next KAT meeting next week, will update at next week.

 

National park -end of session. Bus was a good success and winding down now. 

 

Clear way B road Dahl lorries roads busy and no passing place – police can move if necessary. 

 

Update – pavilion fencing update flood lights, kiosk for flood lights and astro being used more by footballers.  Awaiting on lease from Stirling council as there is a pending problem over outstanding water bills. G.Maxwell will chase. 

 

 

  1. AOCB – trees at the Caravan site matter were raised again. Caravan club still not addressed the matter. New sign, speed control re golf club – not yet been done but agreed in principle.  Traffic management and Health and Safety issues also involved.

 

Heard nothing from camp site and no further forward. Tree surgeon to look at when trees can be cut.  Issuing causing concern as near powerline and BT line and may cause a road concern.

 

Complaints – a complaint was raised by a member of the public this was addressed, and a response and apology was read out by the chairperson.
