Chair – As per the AGM it’s been a challenging year to get fresh individuals.

Secretary – The admin grant is to be in by 16 July. The purchase of a printer – does this

need to be included and is there anything else that needs to be filled in? If there are any

queries completing the grant Stephen Bly confirmed he can be contacted via email.

Martin proposed to purchase a printer/paper and consumables etc for the role of secretary

and during the time Mandy is in the role she will put the claim.

Total Account Balance £3473.61

Leaflets – Jamie confirmed the leaflet is due to be finalised and will arrange for quotes for

printing. It was suggested by Martin to get three quotes: Mailboxes, Stirling

Council/University and ARC. Jamie asked whether there was any possibility of printing via

Superglass. Stephen Bly recommended the purchase of a laptop.

1

Planning – proposal for extension to Skoda Garage at Forthside Way. The extension is for

the offices. There is no impact to the immediate area and community council have no

objections to this.

  1. Additional Reports

Councillor Report

None available due to the election.

Police

Again, no police presence and no report. Need to feed back to Police Scotland regarding

the absence of police at meetings. Reviewed previous reports from Police Scotland,

confirm last report received was in October 2023.

Superglass

Recently had an intense fire which lasted at the plant for around an hour. Fire and Rescue

officers are due back in to review and follow up from the fire.

Noise – still a live issue and discussion are ongoing on this.

Mandy asked whether it would be worth looking at another community engagement event

similar to the previous one that was held at Crawford Hall?

Charity Committee – Andrew suggested a sit down with the community council and

Superglass Charity Committee to work together. Meet with the charity committee first and

then tour the factory.

  1. General Business

Co-option of new Community Councillors

This is ongoing as spaces are available, this will be a standing item. Stephen Bly will

confirm to the Chair how many spaces are available.

Paths

Yellowhill Path (hardcore had been dumped) Mandy confirmed she has issued

correspondence to Stirling Council Land Services on this matter. Correspondence will be

reissued.

Barbara asked how to get paths adopted as she still has not been able to get any answers

with regard to her previous queries on path adoption.

Martin will send correspondence to Stephen Bly regarding paths, and which have been

adopted by Stirling Council. Barbara will send a path list to Martin.

2

Flyers/Leaflet Drops

These are currently in hand and the agreement is to go with best value quote. Plan is to

have them issued between August and September. Jamie needs confirmation of exactly

how many houses are in the area.

Martin asked for a couple of A4 notices for noticeboards – Andrew; Superglass offered to

print the A3 notices. Will also use local radio.

Dog Walkers

Approached by a representative regarding putting a plaque on the bench due to the death

of one of their walkers. They also wondered about putting a plant in. Confirmed that plant

cannot go ahead as permission is needed from Housing Services. No one raised any

objections to the plaque.

AOCB

Resident asked about whether a newsletter for the Braehead and Broomridge community

is

something that could be considered. Not all residents can use technology. Mandy asked

whether the resident had any specific thoughts on what form the newsletter may take?

Resident suggested the newsletter could be issued once a quarter. Andrew at Superglass

suggested he could share a sample of a newsletter that they use.

It was suggested that the community council sort out the leaflet drop first and then revisit

the issue of the newsletter. The resident confirmed that they would come back at the

August

meeting and share a sample of the newsletter.

Jamie raised the issue of his neighbour being harassed. It has been reported to Police

Scotland but still having issues. Recommended contact be made with Community Safety

Department at Stirling Council. Secretary will email the relevant schools in the area and

contact will be made with a Stirling Council Councillor for assistance.

Meeting closed at 21:00 hrs.

Next meeting will be held on Wednesday 28 August 2024 @19:00hrs.
