Updates relating to all emergency closures across Stirling. 

Emergency Road Closure: Upper Castlehill (near Stirling Castle)

An emergency closure has been put in place on Upper Castlehill.  It will be closed from Sunday 2nd August due to a dangerous building on Upper Castlehill.

This closure will not stop traffic travelling along Mar Place to access Stirling Castle and the Portcullis.  However, you will not able to travel past the castle from the Porcullis for access to Ballengeich Cemetery or Lower Castlehill.

Emergency Road Closures: Murray Place and King Street

All restrictions have been extended until 9 August 2020 as part of a COVID-19 project. These road closures and parking restrictions will create additional space for pedestrians and cyclists at locations where space is currently limited.

 

Murray Place: From its junction with Station Road to its junction with King Street

King Street: From the point where it meets Murray Place to "The Steeple" at the top of King Street

Alternative Route: via Kersebonny Road, Mill Road, The Brae, Mill Hill, Main Street, Birkhill Road, Park Place, Kings Park Road, Victoria Place, Queens Road, Dumbarton Road West (A811) and vice versa.

Please Note: Exemptions will apply to goods vehicles (deliveries) loading / unloading to adjacent premises, refuse collection vehicles, to vehicles accessing the Golden Lion Hotel car park, taxis (for the purpose of dropping off / picking up only), residents and to blue badge holders. Access to residents will be maintained to the permit holder only spaces on Murray Place in front of the TSB. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.

Emergency Suspension of Parking: King Street

All restrictions have been extended until 9 August 2020 as part of a COVID-19 project. These road closures and parking restrictions will create additional space for pedestrians and cyclists at locations where space is currently limited.

Emergency 20mph Speed Limit: Henderson Street

The Henderson Street 20mph speed limit has been extended and will now be in place until 9 August 2020. These restrictions will create additional space for pedestrians and cyclists at locations where space is currently limited.

Henderson Street: From its junction with Inverallan Road in a general south east direction to the west kerbline of Melville Place, a distance of 637 metres or thereby.

Emergency 20mph Speed Limit: Barnton Street, Maxwell Place and Viewfield Street

All restrictions will be from 20 July 2020 until 9 August 2020 as part of a Covid-19 project. These will create additional space for pedestrians and cyclists at locations where space is currently limited.

Barton Street: From its junction with Princes Street to its junction with Station Road.

Maxwell Place: For its entire length.

Viewfield Street: For its entire length.
