Organisations can apply for up to £35,000 each from the Council’s Cost of Living Support Fund to deliver projects which support communities in Stirling who are particularly vulnerable to the rising cost of living.

The Fund will consider applications from organisations who can directly provide support, or signpost to other services that offer help, including advice on managing energy costs; household budgeting and income maximisation. Applications remain open to the funding until 11am on Monday 12 September.

Community Planning and Regeneration Committee Convener, Cllr Gerry McGarvey said: “I strongly encourage organisations and Services in Stirling who are working to support individuals and families   who are affected by the ongoing cost of living crisis to apply to this Council fund.

“In this current economic situation, while we are all in the same boat, we are not in the same storm and some will be struggling a lot more than others. This support is to help those in need of financial assistance to access the support they need. .

“This funding can make a significant difference in supporting money, debt and benefits advice, support with fuel poverty and financial literacy in local communities. Through this budget allocation, the Council will work with third sector organisations and public sector partners to increase the support available locally. Application material for the Cost of Living Support Fund can be downloaded from the Stirling Council website.
