Reading and book groups

Book groups

A book group is for anyone who loves reading and talking about reading with others. We have book groups who meet in our libraries. We have book groups run by some of our libraries. And we support book groups in the community with our book group collections. Our library book groups include a couple of crime lovers’ book groups, a sci-fi book group, an ESOL book group for English learners, and a Poetry Group. See the website page for your local library to find out what’s on, where and who to contact if you’d like to join.

Book group collections

It can be tricky choosing what to read for your book group with a huge range of possibilities out there! We have lots of great titles in our reading group sets collection which we update all the time with input from our regular book group readers. You can borrow a set of 10 books for your reading group, free of charge. Just pick a title, let us know and we will have them delivered to your nearest library in time for your book group.

Daft Aboot Books (online book group)

Do you enjoy discussing books with your friends or reading group, but don’t have time to join a regular group in-person. Well don’t worry Stirling Libraries has a virtual book group called Daft Aboot Books! With no set book to read our online book group is a welcoming space for friendly discussion and reading recommendations.

To join visit our group page on Facebook Daft Aboot Books and request to join the group.
