- Safe Base provides a safe environment for anyone visiting the city centre at night, with the teams working closely with Police Scotland and the Stirling Street Pastors, who provide a vital service in looking out for anyone who finds themselves in a vulnerable situation while on a night out.
They will offer people basic first aid, information about transport options and harm minimisation, and a pick up/contact point If required.
Safe Base teams will be available in the City Centre between 10 pm and 2 am on the following dates:
Friday 6th and Saturday 7th December
Friday 13th and Saturday 14th December
Friday 20th and Saturday 21st December

- Operation Steadfast - Anyone wishing to speak with police to obtain safety information or report an incident can visit the mobile police station, which will be located in Port Street during the day and then in Friars Street in the evenings. Alternatively, the public can also dial 101 in non-emergency situations, and 999 in the event of an ongoing emergency.
- Stirling Council’s Youth Team will be out and about in the city centre, working alongside the Street Pastors, to help address the various issues that can occur when alcohol is being consumed.
All complaints sent to us between Monday 23rd December 2019 and Friday 3rd January 2020 will be logged on Monday 6th January 2020. If you wish to request a service, please contact 01786 404040.

Clearing Roads
Stirling Council's Winter Maintenance Policy prioritises which roads and footpaths receive the appropriate treatment during adverse weather. The Council prepares a plan of action, setting out how it intends to treat ice and snow in accordance with this Policy.
The Roads Teams use a priority system during adverse weather which allows main roads and core routes to be treated first.

Priority One Routes
These roads receive precautionary salting and are roads which have a cumulative daily flow of more than 800 vehicles a day, including roads to Emergency Services establishments.
These routes shall receive precautionary salt treatment between 5.30am and midnight and;
• Clearance of snow accumulations 24 hrs per day.
• The treatment of ice formations 24 hrs per day.
The Winter Service comprises the following types of treatment:

- Treatment of Snow
- Treatment of Hard Packed Snow and Ice
- Flooding Events – Sandbag Policy

- Wrapping paper and gift cards: Standard paper, wrapping paper and gift cards should be placed in your green recycling bin. Wrapping paper or gift cards containing foil, glitter, ribbons or felt coatings are not recyclable and should be placed in your grey non-recyclable bin.
- Cardboard collection: If you have excess cardboard during the festive period you can take it to any of our three Household Recycling Centres.
- Christmas trees: You can recycle real Christmas trees in the garden waste skips at any of our three Household Recycling Centres, or chop them up and place in your brown bin.
Winter is a very busy time for the NHS, especially over the festive season. Please help by only attending the Emergency Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital if you have a serious illness or injury which requires urgent treatment. Your local pharmacy, Minor Injuries Unit or GP practice can also provide advice and treatment for many common health problems - see attached leaflet for details
